Grab your kids’ hand me downs and head to The Be Green Kids Consignment Fall 2012 Sale! It is a 3-day event where parents can sell their outgrown, gently used kids items for 50-90% off retail prices in a boutique-style space set up by the “Be Green” folks. Don’t stop at clothing, bring their old toys, books, DVDs, baby gear, nursery furniture and whatever else they’ve seemed to outgrow.

Sisters-in-law Meredith Brown and Alison Murphy came together with the idea of wanting to create a safe environment where parents can buy and sell gently used children’s items outside of Ebay and other potentially risky or limited settings. Being parents, they understand that growing families struggle to maintain organization and balance in their homes and in their budgets, and so Be Green Kids Consignments was born. These events were designed with families in mind, allowing parents to drop-off their gently used items and have them sold on their behalf to other families. Recycling your kids clothing lowers their impact on the environment as well as on your wallet, not to mention it gives other parents the opportunity to score some great stuff for their kids at bargain prices. I know I love a great deal, especially on items that I know my child will out in a month or two. Their Westchester event will be their 17th sale, and they also hold sales events in Dutchess County, NY and Newport County, RI.

Event Begins: November 2nd, 2012

Event Ends: November 4th, 2012

Location: Mapleton at Good Counsel, 52 North Broadway, White Plains, NY 10603

In addition to this fabulous consignment sale, “Be Green” will be hosting a special event for first-time expectant parents and families that have one and only child under the age of one. This event will take place from 6PM to 9PM on Friday, Nov. 2nd, the first day of their consignment sale. Attendees will get in before the general public and will receive a Be Green goodie bag.
