Spring is officially here! What better way to celebrate than by being outdoors. Here are some fun community gardens you can check out and enjoy the beautiful weather.
This Upper West Side Garden was founded in 1976, and his been maintained beautifully ever since. There is a flower park and vegetable plots. They do events often, and are always looking for volunteers to help. West Side Community Garden is located at West 89th St. between Columbus and Amsterdam. They are open 7 days a week from 8am-7pm.
This community garden was started in 1993, and offers a gazebo, two peach trees, open space for events and meetings, and even has a place for barbequing. The park has limited public hours, but membership is open to anyone. Join them on May 5th from 11am-6pm for their Spring Flea Market. West 104th Street Garden is located at West 104th Street between Manhattan Ave and Central Park West.
This midtown garden is a quiet oasis in the middle of Manhattan’s busiest neighborhood. Divided into two sections, The Front Garden is open to the public. They do regular compost collections and plant sales, and they also offer a walking tour. Clinton Community Garden is located at West 48th St. between 9th and 10th Ave.
